Progress Report for May 1, 2024

May 8, 2024

Construction on the buildout of the Volt Broadband network is right at the 90% mark as of the first of May, 2024.

We are pleased to see that our take rates continue to be above 50% by NELPCO’s members taking advantage of Volt Broadband’s fiber-to-the-home initiative.
With the exception of the Chickasaw/Kilbourne area in West Carroll Parish, all of the NELPCO territory north of Interstate 20 is now open for service. We continue to push hard to have the Kilbourne/Chickasaw area open and feel that it will be in early May.
South of I-20 in the area around the Crowville community in Franklin Parish, work continues to open some areas for service possibly later on this month, with the remaining areas open in June.

Also in Franklin Parish, construction continues in the Fort Necessity and Wisner areas in the southern part of the parish, and services there are anticipated to become available by August.

In addition, make ready efforts continue in the Como area with services ramping up and becoming available in late summer to early fall, if not sooner. Service to these customers will bring internet service to all eligible NELPCO members before the end of this year.
As of the first of May, our active customer count stands at more than 3,350 active customers with over 215 more on the schedule for installation. We also have an additional 375 orders confirmed by the customer and waiting on drop crews to get the fiber to their house from the main line.
We remain very pleased with the progress made so far in the construction of the Volt Broadband network. With 90% of the fiber buildout in place, new customers continue to sign up every day and we continue to get great reviews from our customers on the ease of installation, quality of the product, cost and ongoing customer service.

We are proud to bring this state-of-the-art service to all our NELPCO members.
We remain very appreciative of your patience with this project. Despite setbacks early on as well as other issues that caused delays, we remain on schedule to provide this service to all the NELPCO members within our initial time frame.
