Is service available at my address?

Until the project is completed around the end of 2023 or early 2024, it might not be yet. However, by pre-registering, we can contact you as we get closer and also notify you when service is available.

How much longer before I get service at my address?

At this time, we don’t have an exact estimate. The project should be completed within 20 months, which means all NELPCO members will have access at that time. The first customers began receiving service in late August 2022. However, by pre-registering, we will begin emailing you soon as we get more definite timeframes in each area.

Who is Volt Broadband?

Volt Broadband, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative created to establish and maintain affordable high-speed fiber internet service for the members of the cooperative.

Why did NELPCO decide to create a broadband company?

In addition to allowing the cooperative to enhance the quality and reliability of its electric service, NELPCO believes fiber internet service will vastly improve the quality of life in Northeast Louisiana.

What is fiber internet and why is it better than other types of internet?

Fiber optic internet transmits data through glass fibers as pulses of light and can carry large amounts of data much faster than other internet technology. Fiber is the most reliable and secure way to transmit data at the fastest upload and download speeds available.

How will internet service affect my electric bill?

Volt Broadband internet services will be billed separately from NELPCO power bills.
