Project Update for Friday, June 2, 2023
As of June 2nd, we have over 1,200 satisfied residential and commercial customers in the Log Cabin, Baskin, Winnsboro and Mangham communities within the NELPCO footprint.
Those who pre-register are simply placing their name on the list for future contact, and are not committed for the service. If you are pre-registered when Volt Broadband becomes available in your area, you’ll be contacted by a representative to answer all your questions prior to scheduling installation of the service.
Installations continue daily in the Baskin, Crowville and Liddieville areas outside of Winnsboro, with connections scheduled well into the month of June. Splicing is taking place in areas around Archibald north to the golf course in Rayville and in areas both north and south of Interstate 20.
The first feeder in Archibald is scheduled to open in early July.
Construction has also begun in earnest in the Oak Grove area, with the feeder in the Goodwill area about 60% complete. The feeder heading south to Forest is slightly behind that pace.
As of June 1, approximately 500 miles of fiber is in the air so far, though some of it is not “hot” yet. This figure represents approximately one-fourth of the expected total once the project is complete.
