Project Update for Friday, June 30, 2023

Jun 30, 2023

As of today, June 30, 2023, there are over 1,500 satisfied residential and commercial customers connected to the Volt Broadband network in the Log Cabin, Baskin, Winnsboro and Mangham communities.

Installations continue daily in the Baskin, Crowville and Liddieville areas outside of Winnsboro, with connections scheduled over the course of the next several weeks.

Fiber construction and splicing continues in the Archibald area north toward Rayville in areas both north and south of I-20.

The first feeder in Archibald is expected to open in mid-July, with the remaining feeders slated to open in mid-August. In addition, network construction continues in the Oak Grove area, with the feeder in the Goodwill community approximately 70% complete. Work also continues on the feeder moving south to the Forest area.

Weather has been an issue in several areas over the last 30 days or so, but both construction and installation crews continue to push hard to maintain their schedules. Over 600 miles of fiber is now in the air though some of it is not “hot”, which represents nearly one-third of the expected total once the project is complete.
