Project Update for Friday, April 7, 2023

Apr 7, 2023

Construction of the Volt Broadband fiber-to-the-home network continues throughout the NELPCO service territory. At this point, some 3,000 accounts have pre-registered for the service, a number that continues to increase daily as word of the system’s success continues to get out.

As work feverishly continues around Franklin Parish in both the construction and installation phases, we still have members continuing to sign up and take advantage of our service in the Log Cabin community as well.

In West Carroll parish, folks in Oak Grove can drive by our NELPCO office on Industrial Boulevard and see our latest addition, a cellsite “hut” that contains all the equipment to deliver this much anticipated connectivity to the West Carroll area.

As of today, we have some 800 satisfied customers between the Log Cabin and Baskin communities.

Our Baskin 3 feeder, which comprises the area east of US 425 from Baskin to Crowville, and from the Franklin Cotton Warehouse north to Bobby Woods Road, has now moved from construction to splicing phase, which means the feeder will be ready to start connecting folks in that area by early May.

Construction has also moved to the Archibald feeders which include areas north of LA 132 on both sides of US 425 to areas in the Rayville area. We also expect construction to continue in the Archibald feeders through mid-May, and once the construction phase is complete crews will then move to the Oak Grove feeders.

As always we appreciate your patience as we work diligently to make this awesome service available to ALL of NELPCO’s valued members.
