Project Update for Friday, April 28, 2023

The construction of the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network continues throughout the NELPCO service territory. At this point, over 3,000 accounts have pre-registered for Volt Broadband service, a number that continues to increase with each passing day.

At this time, we have almost a thousand satisfied customers between the Log Cabin and Baskin communities in Morehouse, Richland and Franklin Parishes.

Remember that a pre-registration is simply getting your name on the list for future contact, and is not a commitment for the service. If you are pre-registered and Volt Broadband becomes available in your area, you will be contacted by a Volt Broadband representative regarding whether or not you would like to have the service.

As of May 1, fiber internet is now available to residents and members of NELPCO along Hwy 577 to Banks Lane just west of Crowville and North members on Longview Road at Union Church.

Also included in the most recent opening is the area west on Union Church Road to Hwy 132/Hwy 857, and southwest to Dobber Glass Road in Baskin.

Construction also continues in the Archibald area, and splicing has begun on Feeder 3 of Archibald, which means service will soon be available to those residing in this location.

We are working to obtain more construction crews to amplify our construction as we move to the areas around Oak Grove to Goodwill and South to Holly Ridge. Those living in these areas will begin to see the “ECC” logo on the bucket trucks moving around these locations.

The “hut” and its required electronic equipment are already in place at our NELPCO office at 291 Industrial Boulevard in Oak Grove. The mere fact this process is complete will speed up the timeline for installations in these areas.
