Project Update for Friday, August 26, 2022

Aug 26, 2022

Yesterday, on August 25th, 2022, we surfed the web at our hut in Log Cabin. This was a huge accomplishment as we are now connected to the worldwide web and can now connect NELPCO members to the web. We will continue to test and make sure the reliability is perfect prior to offering internet to those pre-registered south of the Log Cabin office, served by Feeder 4. The construction on Bonita Road is nearly complete and splicing will begin soon. The North Feeder on Crossett Road, north of Log Cabin, is 20% complete.

In Baskin, construction of fiber has begun on the West Feeder near Doc Rogers Road, and work will continue on this feeder from west of Mangham towards Liddieville until ready to connect customers in early 2023, if not before. Make-ready has been completed on Baskin east toward Crowville, so this area is ready for construction as well.

In Crowville, make-ready engineering has completed work previewing the poles on Crowville north and south as well as Como north, near Knight’s crossroads. Make-ready construction should complete all work required on these feeders next week.

Our construction contractor has added more crews now and installed fiber miles have greatly increased. The contractor responsible for home installs will begin work on September 7th on the Log Cabin Feeder 4.
